that is the highest of arts’

Kennedy Estate

Why…

Kennedy Estate is not connected to the political Kennedy family.

The name is personal to us. It is part of our oldest daughters name, and her name in turn comes from Newtownmountkennedy, a small town in County Wicklow, Ireland, which is known as the Garden of Ireland.

That connection made the name feel right. It ties the Estate to family, place and landscape.

three ideas that have shaped the property from the start.

Built with intention

Kennedy Estate was never conceived as a conventional house in a conventional setting.

The property evolved over several years through deliberate decisions about architecture, landscape, privacy and how the house should sit within the land. The use of shipping containers gave us the freedom to create something distinctive, sculptural and unexpected.

We see the house itself as part of the art of Kennedy Estate. Its form, materials and relationship with the surrounding landscape are intended to make it feel less like a traditional residence and more like a permanent installation within the property.

The grounds were developed with the same care, preserving openness, quiet and a strong connection to nature.

The result is a place where the architecture and landscape are not separate from the experience. They are part of it.
